Rome, Overflowing with World Heritage
Rome is the capital of Italy; within the city, you can see the glorious relics of the Roman Empire and the spirit of the Renaissance everywhere. Because of religion, art, and strong governance, this immortal city has preserved its everlasting cultural heritage for the people of the world. For someone who is passionate about architecture, art, or history, walking on the streets of Rome is like walking through time. By looking at the squares, temples, churches, or museums, you can see works from artists of every time period and style. The excitement you feel will keep you walking all day long.
People in Rome love to enjoy life and great food. You will notice the great dining atmosphere in the market squares or next to the Vatican walls. In addition to the magnificent historical monuments, this is the side of Rome that is most worth experiencing. In the markets, you feel like you want to bring the whole vast array of pastas, ingredients, and spices home with you; and of course you must try the local olive oil and cheese! In addition to the must-see attractions such as the Colosseum and the Pantheon, don't forget to visit other ancient Roman sites such as the Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum, the Imperial Fora, and the Piazza del Campidoglio. And of course the impressively Baroque style of the Piazza Navona has its own appeal. When in Rome, you must visit the Piazza di Spagna, made famous by the movie Roman Holiday, and you definitely won't want to miss the opportunity to make a wish at the fountain by facing away and tossing in your coin! Take a trip across the Tiber river. You will find the Trastevere district, a spot world-famous for traditional Roman cuisine. You will also find Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. Although Vatican City only occupies a small area, with top-rated tourist attractions such as the St. Peter's Basilica and Square, the Vatican Museums, and Castel Sant'Angelo, an entire day is not enough to see everything here. The awe of Rome can only be experienced in person. This ancient capital, with its countless statues and stone columns, is truly one of the greatest cities in the history of human civilization!
Vienna, Where the Music is Melodious and the Coffee is Aromatic
Vienna is Austria's most important city, as it played a significant role in shaping great musicians including Haydn, Beethoven, and Mozart. The lives of famous artists such as Gustav Klimt, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, and Egon Schiele were also closely related to this great city. Architecture and culture from different eras join together to create the charm of this city, which fuses 800 years of history! With so many great concerts performed here, Vienna is also lovingly known as the City of Music. If you visit this city so full of artistic energy, then of course you must catch a concert or an opera performance. Let the melodious sounds become one of your most beautiful vacation memories. Vienna coffee, named after the city, has strong hot coffee topped by a big ring of chilled cream; at the bottom of the cup is a layer of sweet syrup. Treat yourself to a cup of dessert-like Vienna coffee to give you more energy for the trip!
Austria is located in Central Europe; the Danube runs all the way through the eastern portion of Vienna. You can find trees and grass lawns everywhere you look. The combination of classical architecture and natural landscape creates postcard-perfect scenes. If this is your first visit, you can start from St. Stephen's Cathedral, then take a walk through the Graben and down Carinthian Street, Vienna's most famous shopping streets. Finally, you'll arrive at cultured halls of the Hofburg and the museum district. Step off the main road surrounding the city and you'll come to the gilded Secession Building, and the Wagner Apartments with their creative wall decorations and other innovative works. Continue toward the outskirts of Vienna, where you'll get to admire the fun and interesting buildings created by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, visit the Belvedere and its collection of paintings by Gustav Klimt, and tour the Schönbrunn Palace, which is a World Heritage Site. As your final stop, you can go to the Vienna Woods to enjoy a glass of wine and take in some fresh air, then proceed to the Wachau Valley for some beautiful scenery by the Danube River. The Vienna New Year's Concert is a famous event that has been ongoing for over half a century. Another popular event, the Vienna Festival, takes place each year during the month of May. If you happen to visit at the year of the year, the Viennese Christmas Market in front of City Hall is a month-long event that you should not miss.
